High school's Essays Reminiscences #2. Ghosts?

Okay,so this is the second one. Its about uh,you read the title I'm sure. Ya, ghosts. Basically its a ghost story but not supposed to be a creepy one. More like humor? I dunno. I got the idea from anime also. Its Keroro Gunsou if I'm not mistaken. But have forgotten which episode. The characters that I've combined are pretty random I must say. o,o

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters. Done yet again.

Ghosts.

School at day must be a very interesting place, bursting with joy and laughter. However, when it is getting darker and the place is at total vacancy, some believe that another terrifying thing occupied the school. At a place far from the hectic city of Tokyo, in the heart of Kyoto, stood a school that was left since 5 years ago. The view of the building itself was creepy enough that most people avoided to stroll near it when night comes by.

At another place that was located at the outskirts of Odaiba city, lived a boy namely Fuyuki Hinata. He had the pinched, slightly unhealthy look of someone who has grown a lot in a short space of time. Fuyuki was a first year high school student who was highly interested in the mystery things and myths. Never did any bizarre occurrences could escape from his awareness. For that reason, his friends fancied making pranks on him and this time, they had decided to scare his wits out of him at the so-called haunted school, the former Amaterasu High.

That ‘Fuyuki-scare-troupe’ was led by the blond Yamato along with four other members that were Taichi, Ken, Izumi and Yolei. Izumi was in charged for special effects assisted by Ken and the other three were suppose to play the role of the ghost and phantom. Together they embarked to Amaterasu High at the centre of Kyoto city and got everything done before waiting for Fuyuki arrival.
“This place doesn’t even send shivers down my spine,” uttered Yamato, breaking the silence of the night.
“Honestly, why must make fuss over such a mere old school?” Taichi grunted followed by gales of laughter from the whole crowd.

Amaterasu High was indeed an old abandoned school, but it did not show the slightest look of terror they thought. The only thing scary about it was that the building was feeble enough that it could collapse any moment! Fuyuki meanwhile could never feel less happier than being invited to investigate the mysterious Amaterasu High, which had been the talk of the town since it was forsaken.

That night, the atmosphere was unusually chilly than any other night before. The wind was blowing smoothly and the moonlit night air was filled with the distant sound of nocturnal creatures. Fuyuki strode alone while humming dreamily under his breath in the pool of light casted by the neighbouring lamp-posts. He was heading for the deserted Amaterasu High in Kyoto unaware of the wicked scheme his friends had specially stored for him.

“Oh, cool! Just as I expected from an old abandoned school!” Fuyuki shouted with an eager look on his fair face as he entered the school’s front gate. He obviously enjoyed what he doing which many was thought was frightening. That school was indeed in a chaotic state since nobody dared to enter it. Rumours said that some sort of spirits or ghouls were sighted lingering around the school at night-time. This had of course increased Fuyuki enthusiasms towards that school. Hence, without any delay, he stepped into the school’s building, his courage and guts all bundled up.

“Now, get ready Yamato! He’s heading directly to your territory!” yelled Izumi through his headphone’s mic upon seeing Fuyuki entering the hallway. They were busy preparing for the first trap with Yamato dressed up as the first ghost. He was supposed to be the ghost occupying the girl’s bathroom or for the most part known as ‘Minako’ among the students. Fuyuki walked slowly, passing the girl’s bathroom when he felt a strange feeling of being watched by someone. He looked around with the aid of the only light he had from his torchlight but nothing came into view. As Yamato was ready to make his big appearance, he however foolishly stepped onto a broken piece of floor, forcing him to stumble backwards and fell with a loud thud. “Oh, crap! Why didn’t I notice that stupid broken floor? Now, Izumi! Ken! Don’t worry about me! I’m fine! Just proceed with the next trap!” Yamato shrieked in pain and with great disappointment.

“What the-?!” Surprised with the sudden deafening sound, Fuyuki figured that in came from the girl’s restroom. In spite of this, he did not dare to enter as the sign on the broken door clearly wrote “GIRL’S BATHROOM’ and he could not possibly enter it as he was a lad. Nevertheless, he carried on with his journey and was about to walk passed the art room when suddenly a voice came from that room. It was Taichi this time, and he was all geared up to play his role as the ghost in the painting. Unfortunately, it also turned out to be a complete fiasco as a big painting behind him fell to pieces, making him to trip over a large pile of broken chairs. This accident had also given away the whole scheme as Fuyuki had a big encounter with Taichi himself. “Eh-? Tai? Is that really you?” asked Fuyuki in total disbelieve. Taichi on the other hand was utterly bewildered and panicked all the same; add along his pain from the mishap. “Err- I’m doomed,” he muttered silently under his breath.

“Wha-?! So all this nonsense about that stupid invitation was also a part of that plot of yours?” howled Fuyuki, in confusion. He did not seem furious about it, however.

“Umm…I guess so,” answered Yamato with an endorsement nod from Taichi, both were sneering at Fuyuki.

“Geez…and I thought I finally meeting a real-life poltergeist or something,” grunted Fuyuki with a total frustration reflected on his face.
“Now, cheer up my friend! Let’s all go to your house and have a nice supper there! We can watch the video recorded by Izumi and Ken too…” Yamato finished with a smirk etched on his handsome face.
“What? Those two are here too?!”
“Not just them, Yolei’s also here. Oh, crap, and she’s supposed to be the best part tonight! Ah, never mind that now. Let’s get them and go to your place Fuyuki!” yelled Taichi.
“Yeah! Let’s! Man, I’m starving that I could eat a horse!” uttered Yamato.
“Come on Yamato, I prefer a cow,” continued Taichi as the other two broke into a merry laugh.
“Yea…I agree. Now, I better make a call to my sister to make extra supper tonight,” said Fuyuki seconds later. Just as he was about to turn around, he caught sight of a girl in school uniform sitting on one of those chairs in a classroom. She had long dark hair and had the slight look of Yolei. “Well, that must be Yolei. Hey, Yolei!” he cried hoping for the girl’ attention and yet, she did not even startled a little. “I guess she didn’t hear me. Anyway, we’re going now Yolei! Don’t forget to catch up later!” and he strode away, following Yamato and Taichi’s lead.

Upon arriving at Fuyuki’s cozy house, everyone had a scrumptious supper prepared by Fuyuki’s elder sister, Natsumi Hinata. The crowd chatted non-stop about their adventure at the abandoned school and how Fuyuki was fooled by their troop.
“And Yolei, I must say that you are the greatest! I almost believe that you really were a ghost in that classroom just now!” shouted Fuyuki towards Yolei who seemed puzzled at his proclamation.
“Eh-? But I never-” claimed Yolei in a low voice as she stared at Fuyuki with baffled expression.
“Come on, Yolei! Don’t joke around with me,” Fuyuki sniggered.
“But, honestly, I’m not…hmm…” sighed Yolei after a while, still gazing at Fuyuki at a complete loss as if she never saw him before.

After setting themselves comfortably in the warm living room, Natsumi finally joined them and asked a question that put everyone into total astonishment, “What are you talking about? If you mean that old Amaterasu High building, well, I’m sorry to say that it had been demolished maybe a month ago. So, there’s no way you could’ve been there.”
“Excuse me but we’ve been there a moment ago. Where else could we’ve been then?” screeched Fuyuki, protesting his sister’s statement just now.
“Yeah! And we’ve got it on tape too! Ken! Izumi! Quick, take the video and make it play on that TV!” ordered Yamato pointing at the only television in that Hinata’s living room. Izumi meanwhile was rummaging his backpack for the video. After a short search, he found it and hand it over to Ken to be placed in the video player. Everyone in that room was waiting impatiently for the video to start playing and when it did, a deafening horror-struck scream echoed throughout the room, “Yikes!!! What was that???!!!!”

What did they actually see? Well, that remains a mystery.
